Life and Style | Portrait Photographer in Broomfield Colorado

June 17th, 2013

This was one of my recent Life and Style photo sessions with a local Thornton family at one of my favorite parks to photograph near Broomfield Colorado. Whenever I get a chance to do this type of sessions I try to put a little bit of life into the frame and create time-less moments that last. I was lucky enough to be able to photograph these amazing people, and I’m glad that they allowed me to share these beautiful moments with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Me and my Mommy + Daddy

June 3rd, 2013

After a long wait, our little boy is finally here and after spending some time at the hospital. I have to say that hospitals are not a great places for pictures. Hospitals are places where everything is working against you, starting with lighting to people recovering, so your choices are limited. If you ever find yourself in this situation, I recommend that you find a window that let’s the natural light in. Next turn all the lights off and walk around to see how the window light falls on your subject. Those will be your money shots, so try to work a little smile into your frame. As soon as you figure out what works well, quickly find Grandma, tell her where to stand. Give Grandma your camera and show her the magic button, than put yourself into that frame exactly as you imagined and Granny will feel like a star. This is how I captured our first few moments with a little life style.
